Introducing you to our Run Club

Yes, you read correctly: we are launching our very own run club! & you might be wondering...
Why are we doing it?
A note from Cata 👇
Tarwi started before lupins, with a very personal journey from me. Going back to 2013, I had just finished my master's and got a job in London. It was the first time I got in touch with reality: I wasn’t a kid anymore, and there was no longer a blueprint for life. I remember feeling really lost, anxious, and scared. And that’s when I got into running.
I was never sporty, always the last person chosen for team sports at school—I was too uncoordinated and insecure. But I had to learn how to manage my emotions, and eating and drinking my way through them was not working.
So, I started small. I lived in Bethnal Green at the time, in East London, and there was a cute little square in front of our house. One day, I went for it and ran for 10 minutes. I remember feeling exhausted but loved it - it quieted my brain. So I kept coming back. The 10 min increased to 15, then 20, and then 30 min. My endurance started improving, and then I would run 10, 12, 15km at a time. I couldn’t get enough. It seemed to be the only thing that would make my brain go quiet and help me manage my anxiety.
Running led me to feel better and made me want to eat better. I started reading about nutrition and got into healthy eating. I tried all types of diets and foods. And it was when I played with a 100% plant-based diet that I came across lupins, which then led to Tarwi.
This journey was life-changing but incredibly lonely. My friends were not in the same vibe as me, and I never felt like a good enough runner to join a run club.
I don’t know where you are in life, but I do know that life is so much better when you take care of yourself and surround yourself with people who want the same.
So, no matter where you are in your journey- if you are an experienced runner, if you have never run more than 1km, or even if you have never run in your life- if you want to feel better, meet new people, try something new, and, most importantly, have fun, then this is for you.
Join our run club. Worst case scenario, you find out you don’t really like it. Best case scenario, you make new friends for life😊

What to expect?
We will be hosting these running clubs at the end of each month. We will adjust as we go and based on your feedback.
We are testing this out, so the first run club will be in Lisbon, where most of our community is based. If you want to have run clubs hosted in London or any other city, let us know here—if there is enough demand, we will do our best to accommodate it!
